Pricing Model Application

One application of fuzzy decision support systems is in determining the unit price for a new product. This process involves considering a number of imprecise and uncertain factors, many of them unrelated to one another, and others that appear to be entirely contradictory. An example of such a model, developed by Mr. Earl Cox of Metus Systems, can be found in the reference cited below. Proof-of-Feasibility Maneuver Aid

A prototype maneuver aid (ship automatic helm controller), eveloped to aid the U.S. Navy in conducting complex tactical maneuvers. This fuzzy expert system utilized an expert-helmsman knowledge base to guide the ship accurately through a series of complex maneuvers, as well as to simply keep the ship on course.

The Expert System Active Sonar Classification Aid

A prototype data fusion system for identifying (classifying) active sonar contacts. Developed for the U.S. Navy, the approach used is also applicable to a wide range of data fusion applications, where various sources of data must be analyzed and "fused" into a single opinion, answer, or decision.
